About Me

I’m a writer, editor, singer, and, occasionally, a martial artist and belly dancer. I live in sunny southern California. I earned my BA in English from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and studied geology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. I worked as a technical writer for many years and am now pursuing my goals of writing books and publishing them. I also enjoy editing very much.

I’m a mom. My beautiful daughter started high school this year and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She inspires me to reach my goals and achieve my dreams.

My life experiences and interests show up in my writing. Singers, dancers, musicians, drummers, writers, students, scientists, computer geeks, and cubicle workers mingle with fae folk, warriors, assassins and rogues of every stripe, magic, witches, gypsies, shifters, and vamps.

Highlights of my life, aside from bringing my daughter into the world, would have to include going to Burning Man, hiking out of the Grand Canyon in a blizzard, dancing for tourists on Venice Beach, exploring an ice cave in Arizona, and drumming at a Klingon wedding in Minneapolis. I’ve also hiked on a volcano in Hawaii, sang in an instaband at WorldCon, saw the aurora borealis from the train in Canada, and watched a shuttle launch in Florida. I’ve spent summer nights in an old house on top of a hill on Cape Cod. My mom will remember the time I drew the unicorn in the sand dunes at Sandy Neck. I saw the tidal bore at Truro, Nova Scotia. I tried to learn contact juggling in Seattle. I watched the Perseid meteor shower while laying on the hood of a car in Texas. I performed at the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach with my gypsy friends. Little kids asked us for our autograph. I’ve sat in my tent listening to coyotes howling at night in the Sonoran Desert.
